Growing in Love of Neighbors Near and Far

Cultivating the Practice of Daily Prayer

Prayer is not a substitute for action;
it is an action for which there is no substitute. ~ Jane Edwards

As we enter a new year, let us resolve to cultivate the practice of lifting others before God in prayer.
Below is a suggestion about how you might “order” your prayers each week.

Pray for our church: its people, its life, and its ministry.

Pray for the places you spend your weekdays:  home, work, school…

Pray for our community, for our nation, and for our world.

Pray for individual people who come to your mind and heart.

Pray for issues and concerns that come to your mind and heart.

Pray for your family and others who are dear to you.

Pray for those things which bring joy, balance, and love to your life.

We invite you and your family to use this as a guide for your prayers throughout the year.

Place this guide by your bedside, with your bible or daily devotional, tape it to your mirror or refrigerator,
or place it on your family table, someplace where it will remind you to pray.
