We are growing in our love of the neighbors who may be far from us.
We are a congregation of the United Methodist Church. Believing that as a part of this connectional church we are able to do far more than we could ever do on our own, each year a percentage of our church’s financial resources (called an apportionment) goes to support the ministry and mission of The United Methodist Church. This support of the greater ministry and mission of our denomination helps us to support our neighbors across the state, around the country, and throughout the world.
Emma Norton Services
The only national mission of the United Methodist Church in Minnesota, Emma Norton Services provides supportive housing for single women at Emma Norton Residence and for single parent families with multiple children at Emma’s Place. Our United Methodist Women and our congregation as a whole have supported Emma Norton Services in a variety of ways through the years.
Each year our church has at least one mission trip that is usually open to both youth and adults. Recent trips have included an urban servant trip to North Minneapolis and Hurricane Sandy Relief. As a congregation we are also supportive of individuals who want to participate in mission trips through the Minnesota Annual Conference or other organizations.
Throughout the year there are also opportunities to give to special offerings in support of United Methodist mission and outreach efforts in the state and around the world, including the work of our United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).
Our Sunday school has also invited the congregation to help them in support of Heifer International. They are getting closer to their $5,000 goal of Filling an Ark!
